Waugh Foods Goes Above and Beyond

April 2, 2007 (Richmond, VA) -Waugh Foods Inc., a Distributor Partner of Pocahontas Foods USA, was presented with the Above and Beyond Award at the recent Progressive Group Alliance Spring Business Summit held in Atlanta, Georgia. The Above and Beyond award is presented to the Distributor or Distributor Principal based on their outstanding contributions to the Program, the Industry, or the Community,

Committed to providing outstanding customer service, Waugh Foods decided to integrate a virtual warehouse as part of their business offerings. They partnered with Dot Foods, located in nearby Mount Sterling, one of the nation's largest redistributors who has perfected its virtual storefront. The "storefront" system allows participating Distributors to offer their customers cyberspace shopping from an expanded catalog of items. The product information is loaded into Waugh's system along with their in-stock items. The entire inventory is available to the Sales Team and orders are transmitted almost instantaneously back to DOT. The theory seems simple enough but it took three years and a lot of hard work to complete. AFS Technologies developed the software to handle the entire ordering process working with the IT and operations team to integrate the software into the system. Waugh customers now have access to "one stop Shopping" with access to over 30,000 items

Located in East Peoria, Illinois, Waugh Foods Inc., was founded in 1948. The company handled only frozen foods for years but has since become a Broadline Foodservice Distributor.
