Weekly Market Reports
Dairy Report for the week of August 30, 2010
June US butter exports were 236% larger than the previous year but were down 10% from May. Butter exports in the coming months are anticipated to modestly decline assuming there are no major challenges with Oceania milk production. Fairly inflated butter prices are anticipated to persist into next month. Cheese exports during June were 85% larger than last year and a record. Export interest for US cheese is reported to be slowing which suggests that the upside risk in the cheese markets from here may only be modest. Buyers may want to limit cheese purchases.
